About Us

A TALE OF TWO PARENTS

He knew how to code.

She knew Tagalog.

Everything started with a simple realization.

When one parent started learning Tagalog, he noticed the scarcity of Tagalog learning resources. He asked several questions to another parent fluent in Tagalog, but she also had a difficult time explaining the rules and finding reliable sources.

Thus, the concept of Turong Wika was created to try to bridge that gap.

They dug through textbooks, online resources, and scholarly articles to consolidate information about the Tagalog language. However, they realized that some information was not publicly available, missing, or outright incorrect.

Both parents then decided to analyze the Tagalog language and formally document various Tagalog grammar rules that are taught in Turong Wika today.

VISION

To create an all-in-one platform for Tagalog learning resources.

GOAL

Preserving Filipino languages by making learning resources accessible to everyone.

WHY TAGALOG?

Tagalog is a fascinating language with an intriguing rhythm and cadence. It is also the basis of the Philippines’ national language, Filipino.

If a language does not have easily accessible resources to learn, the speakers of the language will eventually decline.

As Filipino keeps on developing, more and more Tagalog words are being forgotten. Turong Wika aims to help preserve this beautiful language and teach its fundamentals to those who want to learn.
